A great dessert for guests when celebrating a happy occasion.

  • Cooking time: 20 minutes
  • Serves 6

You will need

  • 1 cup vermicelli 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1-2 cups milk
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds

Method

Step 1

Fry the vermicelli in the ghee on a low heat until it turns light brown in colour.

Add milk to this and stir. Bring to the boil and add the sugar.

Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the milk to thicken and the vermicelli to swell up. Add the cream, stirring all the time. As the mixture thickens add the almonds.

Remove from the heat, taste and adjust the sweetness as desired.

This can be served hot or cold.
